Closing Notice for the Hand Center of Western Massachusetts
The Hand Center of Western Massachusetts will be closing as of June 01, 2025. It is with a heavy heart that we share this news with you today. Over the last several weeks, we have had sudden unexpected staffing issues which have prevented normal operations of our office. The matter has reached a critical point whereby staffing concerns have prevented us from being able to resume our regular activities as a hand surgery practice despite our fervent desire and significant efforts to do so.
Your medical records at the Hand Center of Western Massachusetts will be kept secured for 7 years from the date of your last visit in the office. Office notes for previous visits were originally sent to your primary care physician on file at the time of your visit. If you wish a copy of your most recent office notes or medical records these can be provided to you or a new treating physician as per standard office policy. Obtaining Copies of Operative Reports
For surgeries performed at Pioneer Valley Surgicenter (PVSC) call 413-788-9700.

Obtaining Copies of Test Results and Imaging Studies
Copies of test results -- such as nerve studies, lab work, and advanced imaging, including MRI and ultrasound -- are maintained at the facility where they were performed.
Many primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, and hand surgeons already have direct access to these results through their own electronic medical record systems.
Although a summary of test results and/or imaging studies are typically discussed in detail in the Office Notes, a copy of the actual study can be obtained through the facility where it was performed.
